About Me

I’m a midlife British mum living adventurously between Rome and the hills of Abruzzo, Italy, where I juggle creativity, culture, and classrooms.

I work across three roles:

  • Freelance SEO Content Creator – crafting engagement with SEO-optimised content that connects and converts clients in the UK, USA and Jamaica.

  • Founder, Writer, and President of LifeInAbruzzo.com – a leading not-for-profit cultural association and vibrant online community hub that reaches over 733,000 people annually. Through this platform, I support local holiday agents, producers, and artisans, and most recently collaborated with Stanley Tucci’s production team in planning their Abruzzo episode.

  • Teacher – delivering IGCSE Geography & English at Istituto Cristo Re in Rome, plus private lessons and “English in the Woods” forest-school sessions, online and outdoors.

Before going freelance in 2005, I worked as European Content Manager at MTV Europe and International Digital Manager at the eye charity ORBIS.  Both roles gave me a solid grounding in writing for different audiences, creating engaging, optimised content, and shaping digital strategies.  Today, I use those skills to help companies find their voice, get discovered online, and turn interest into action.

Shapero Rare Books is an internationally renowned dealer in antiquarian & rare books and works on paper based in Mayfair, London.

  • Audited and restructured Shapero Rare Books’ product database, introducing a consistent, scalable tagging system across book and print departments based on age, author, and genre.
  • Mapped and implemented the new taxonomy across the website, optimising tags and categories to enhance discoverability and user navigation.
  • Created SEO-rich category pages, ensuring each was aligned with high-intent search terms and supported organic visibility.
  • Delivered in-house SEO training sessions and provided staff with custom blogging templates to encourage consistent, search-optimised content creation. Improved internal search and filtering, supporting both UX and SEO goals while laying the foundation for future digital growth.

LimeTree Farm is my first and longest-standing client – a remote coffee plantation in Jamaica’s Blue Mountains offering fully catered bungalows to eco-conscious travellers.

I designed a simple, low-maintenance booking website that they could manage themselves, avoiding the hassle of ongoing theme updates. I also taught the team how to blog effectively and continue to write SEO-focused content to support their visibility.

They regularly feature in publications like The Guardian, thanks in part to a strong online presence that reflects their off-grid charm.

Hinterland Rural Youth Engagement 

Abruzzo, Italy – Erasmus+ & Local Schools
• Created and delivered a 4-week Hospitality & Catering themed English language course for mature Erasmus+ students preparing for work placements abroad (Paris & Slovakia) on the Taste Program.
• Invited as a guest speaker to a local school in Fontecchio to engage with students who created podcasts about rural life and local producers
• Participated in a Q&A as a blogger to demonstrate international interest in their stories and amplify their voices

Glug is a UK e-tailer that explores a wine region each month and produces an accompanying print and e-magazine for resale.  Abruzzo was the focus of its 31st edition.
